God has been so good! Last night at Elevate it was great to see God work in lives. I’m excited that students are coming forward and wanting to get baptized and grow stronger in their walk with Jesus! What an awesome God we serve.
I hope you have a great weekend, i’ll be out of town until monday, so this is the last post for a few days…
Endless Summer rock show is October 6th!!!! Bands are getting lined up this week…It will be an awesome night and a great way to reach out to students in the Jax area! Are you ready?!
Keep following Christ, cling to Him when things get tough! God wants to help you and encourage you to live a life that pleases Him! I hope you seek Jesus first and live for Him daily!
I’m pumped about this week!
God has been doing a lot and I’m excited more and more about seeing Jesus glorified!
This week at Elevate (wednesday night) we will be talking more about the Basics of the Faith! Many students have asked me about baptism and the Lord’s Supper and what they mean. We will be talking about that and also what truly saves a person!
I encourage you to bring your friends that need Jesus, pray for them and be ready to share when God opens to door. I’m praying more and more that Jesus becomes the focus and not ourselves. It is easy to focus on all the details and how perfect everything is expected to go, but I want to let God’s power flow and leave the results up to Him!
What an awesome and loving God!
It amazes me that I’m so unworthy and sinful, but God loves me and wants to use me anyway!? The world needs to know of His love and grace for them.
1 Peter 3:15-16 is one of my favorite verses, “But set apart the Messiah as Lord in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you. However do this with gentleness and respect, keeping your conscience clear, so that when you are accused, those who denounce your Christian life will be put to shame.”
Can you answer with a reason why you follow Christ?!
The world wants to know…
Elevate was great last night, it was awesome to see one of the students accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour! Wow, what an awesome God!
I am a work in progress as many of you know! I shared with some of the student leaders that I am too driven sometimes that I wear myself out. My drive to “get everything done” becomes my focus at times.
…I’m coming to realize that when I get “busy” I can miss the voice of God.
Last night I just asked God to speak to my heart and reveal anything that is not pleasing to Him…what immediately came was the fact that I let “doing ministry” to take over and not letting God take control. God worked last night and it is amazing to see Him show up in power!
God’s love for us?
Well…one of my favorite passages is:
Psalm 139:13-18 it says, “For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well. My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth. Your eyes saw my unformed substance;in your book were written, every one of them,
the days that were formed for me, when as yet there was none of them. How precious to me are your thoughts, O God! How vast is the sum of them! I would count them, they are more than the sand. I awake, and I am still with you.”
What an awesome promise of God…He created us in every detail, we are created in His image. Now athiests and evolutionists say otherwise…That we are created for no real purpose, there is no God and I am fully capable on my own. The one thing that any athiest cannot shake is GOD’S LOVE!!!! He loves each person whether or not they love Him back! Whether you believe in God or not, He loves you! Sweet! I have talked with many athiests/agnostics/muslims/Hindus/etc…and many of these people I’ve talked to never heard the true gospel of Jesus Christ! Many of these people think that Christians have a “mindless faith.” They believe that science and faith are incompatible. Science…”is the search for truth.” Did we come from a “big bang?” Well…try a scientific experiement for me…don’t clean up your room for a year, does it create ORDER or DISORDER? well…duh, Josh! It is only logical. God made us in His image because He made us to love us. He created everything. Does a building just “pop” up out of the ground? No…it needs a builder. The world was created by the hands of God! Have you seen a sunset lately? Have you seen the mountains? Have you seen ocean waves? God’s awesome handiwork is shown!
Here are 5 conclusions that can be made IF evolution was true (it is not):
1. There’s no evidence for God
2. There’s no life after death
3. There’s no absolute foundation for right and wrong
4. There’s no ultimate meaning for life
5. People don’t really have a free will
God is REAL!!!!! He changed my life and so many others. Check out this book if you have any further questions, “The Case for a Creator” student edition by Lee Strobel. Awesome book that will delve into deeper PROOFS that God is the creator.
Have an awesome day and remember to tell somebody about Jesus!
What a beautiful day! I went surfing with Mike right at daybreak (around 6:30) and it was awesome to watch the sun come up on the horizon. What an awesome God we serve! He is an amazing creator.
I’m pumped about Transition tonight @ 7:30 in the Worship Center. You do not want to miss out on this ministry.
Elevate wednesday night is going to be awesome! I hope that each of you gets a word from God and that He changes you and me to become more like Him!
Are you living for Jesus? Are you talking about Him? Influence others to seek Jesus Christ!
He is an amazing God that wants a personal relationship with you. I hope you know and experience the joy of following God. If you have any questions about the Bible, God, anything, please let me know (I do not always have the answers).

School is right around the corner! Some are pumped and others are bummed…well…
I’m done with college so I’m not too worried about going to class, but one thing I do continually think about is the way students are educated in today’s culture.
I was told in my first year of college (community college) by older students that I had to learn how to study for each professor…some were harder than others, etc. What I came to find out was, I studied a sheet of paper with notes (that sometimes were against God’s Word) and had to re-write them onto a test…Once I got done with the test, I was out of there!!!!
I have to ask a question….Was I truly learning?
In transition, how are we training people in God’s Word?
I just do not want to leave students to only look at God’s Word with a “knowledge-only” approach.
Growing up in church (I was a preacher’s-kid) I saw many people that knew many verses in the Bible. That was awesome!
The only question I had was, what did the verse mean?
Many times I received a blank stare. I believe there are many blank stares today from people sitting in churches across America that when the question, “why” or “what does it mean?” is asked.
Have we become a bi-product of a system of thought that says, “learn this study guide, do a memory dump on the test and if you get an A, then you are SMART!”
The key word for the book of Proverbs is “wisdom.”
Proverbs 1:7 says, “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge;
Fools despise wisdom and instruction.”
Proverbs 9:10 says, “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.”
My passion is to see students and families truly understand God’s Word and become wise in their lifestyles based up on it.
Seek God’s wisdom…
Education is a great thing but without learning God’s Word and understanding it, we are missing out on the heart of God and His truth.
My little brother went through another surgery this morning. The doctor said they got the tissue that was bad, out! We are glad about this and now awaiting him to get skin graft. Thank you for the prayers!
Be at the REFUGE Sunday @ 9am for Bible study fellowship! God is worthy of our lives, are you giving Him your whole heart?
